Green Mango Shake

Almost all Filipinos love this! The sweet...kinda sour taste tickles our taste buds perfectly. But I hate how expensive they sell it in restaurants, so I decided to try replicating it at home. It took a lot of experimenting (I first used semi ripe mangos thinking it will give that perfect sweet/sour taste, but i ended up with a sloppy shake) but the finished product was divine! The trick is to use the really green mangoes and those that are far from ripe =)

You will need:
One whole green mango (pick the big ones)
1 cup crushed ice
Honey to taste

How to do it:
In a blender, combine mango and crushed ice and blend until smooth. Slowly add honey until sweet enough for the taste.

Serves one.

Mocha Crumble

Here's a favorite dessert using MY San Grahams. What's best is it doesn't need to bake, just chill overnight!

INGREDIENTS
Crumble:
12 pieces MY San Grahams Chocolate
4 pieces MY San Grahams Chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup/hotcake syrup
2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
Filling:
1 tablespoon hot water
1 teaspoon instant coffee powder (if desired, add another teaspoon for stronger flavor)
1 cup all-purpose cream, chilled (1 cup = 250 ml brick)
6 tablespoons confectioner`s sugar

PROCEDURE
1. DO CRUMBLE. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, light corn syrup and water. Bring to a boil. Upon boiling, put to medium heat and continue boiling. DO NOT STIR. You know it is ready when mixture falls with a thread-like consistency when it is lifted with a spoon; this is about 15 minutes. Turn off heat. Add baking soda and chopped MY San Grahams Chocolate. Mix well. Immediately pour into a loaf pan or "liyanera" lined with greaseproof paper. Cool until hard. Cut into chunks.

2. DO COFFEE CREAM FILLING. In a bowl, whip chilled all-purpose cream until thick. Add confectioner`s sugar. Dissolve coffee powder in hot water. Add coffee to cream mixture. Mix well.

3. LAYER. In a 8 x 8 square pan, lay 6 pieces of MY San Grahams Chocolate . Pour half of coffee cream. Spread evenly. Do another layer alternating crackers and cream. Chill until cream is set. Top with prepared crumble. Serve.

Makes around 8 servings

Avocado and Chocolate Shake

While browsing the net for new shake receipes, I found this avocado and chocolate shake receipe from www.eatingasia.typepad.com. I tweaked it a bit to make it a little healthier so we can enjoy it without the extra calories... well almost =)

Ingredients:
Flesh of one medium to big avocado
2-3 teaspoons honey
1 cup milk (whole or low-fat, or a mixture - but whole is really best)
1 cup crushed ice
3 tablespoons chocolate ice cream or use chocolate powder, you can also use melted chocolate bars (Dark Hershey's chocolate bar was the best!)

Steps:
1. Place avocado flesh, milk, honey, and crushed ice in a blender. Blend for 4-5 minutes are until smooth and frothy.
2. To make the chocolate topping, combine ice cream and about 1/4 cup milk in a blender and blend until ice cream is liquified.
2. Pour the avocado shake into a tall glass - add the chocolate topping, and swirl it into the drink.
