Avocado Smoothie

My sister bought avocados yesterday and so I thought of making a cool drink out of it. Very simple indeed.

You will need:

1/2 avocado
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup ice
3 tablespoons sugar
1 scoop pistachio ice cream
1 tablespoon crushed nuts.

Combine everything in a blender until smooth. Top with pistachio ice cream and sprinkle with crushed nuts of choice.

Mocha Frappuccino - Low Fat

Everybody likes Mocha Frappuccino! But not everyone want to shell out P150 bucks for a big cup of it... so I though I'd try and see if I can "copy" Starbucks' biggest selling drink and make it at home =)

Here's what I found around the web

You will need:

2 tablespoons water
1/2 tablespoon instant coffee
1 teaspoon sugar
20 ice cubes
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1/3 cup refrigerated aerosol fat-free whipped topping

In a small microwavable bowl or cup, combine the water and coffee. Microwave on high for 1 minute, or until the water is hot enough to dissolve the coffee. Add the sugar. Stir until the coffee and sugar are dissolved. Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add six ice cubes. Stir to accelerate melting the ice. Pour into a blender. Add enough ice cubes for the liquid to reach the 16-ounce (2 cup) marker on the blender jar. Blend on high speed for 30 to 60 seconds, or until just slushy. Pour into a 16-ounce (2 cup) tumbler. Top with whipped topping. Serves one.

Makes 1 serving: 241 calories, 5 g protein, 46 g carbohydrates, <1 g fat, trace sat. fat, 1 g fiber

Original Starbucks Grande Mocha Frappuccino Blended Coffee (16-ounce) has: 420 calories, 6g protein, 61g carbohydrates, 16 g fat, 10g sat. fat, 0 g fiber

Banana Coffee Shake

Ever felt so sleepy in the afternoon that you just to gulp down a big mug of coffee? I usually do... but I don't like taking hot coffee in the afternoon since the temperature is usually already hot. A big glass of cold coffee would usually do better. So I thought I'd share with you a definite winner... a tall glass of banana and coffee shake!

All the ingredients are usually found in your standard office pantry, except maybe the banana (but if your office have a canteen you would definitely can get from there) so you can have this in your office. This recipe serves one but I suggest you prepare two to three glasses to share with your officemates... or boss...

You would need

1/3 cup strong coffee (chilled)
1/2 cup milk (full milk will taste exquisite, but skim milk is recommended to save on those calories)
2 big bananas

This is really very simple, in a blender combine coffee, milk and bananas until smooth. I would suggest topping with cinnamon if you have... Enjoy!
